San Antonio will be front and center in the culture wars today, as Oscar winning actress Diane Keaton comes to the Alamo City to speak to a high dollar Planned Parenthood fundraiser, and several anti abortion groups plan to protest her appearance, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Planned Parenthood of South Texas says the 'Annie Hall' star will talk to the group's wealthy donors about "life, parenting, family, femininity and success, from the perspective of a woman with a distinctly modern sensibility.'

Keaton's wisdom doesn't come to the event at the 'platinum level' are '$10,000 and up.'

"At a time when many who support women's health and rights find themselves feeling battle-weary, the insight, formidable with and sublime comedic talent of this iconic and influential role model will focus our thoughts on how powerful women are, what they can accomplish, and how they can affect change," Planned Parenthood said.

Some other people who want to affect change are several pro life groups.  They say they plan a 'Blue Out Rally for Life' in front of the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel to protest what they call the 'Abortuary, Planned Parenthood.'

"Our mission is to peacefully pray for an end to all abortion, to bring awareness to the destruction of human life by Planned Parenthood, and Planned Parenthood's efforts to eradicate persons who are black or brown, and to be a cheerful witness of the beauty of life, marriage, and the family," the groups said.

The claim about 'eradicating persons who are black or brown' is a reference to Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger's connections with the pseudo-science of 'eugenics' in the 1920s, a connection which Planned Parenthood has disavowed and rejected.

The rally comes at a particularly important time for Planned Parenthood.  The national organization, which is headed by Cecile Richards, the daughter of former Texas Gov. Ann  Richards, has vowed to form a political action committee to be active in Texas elections this year, in support of Democrat Wendy Davis and other pro choice Democrats.
