SAWS is flushing the toilets.

After nearly twenty years of giving away low flow toilets to homeowners, the San Antonio Water System says the freebie toilet program will end at the end of this year.

Since 1994, SAWS has given away more than 200,00 low flow toilets, which have saved the utility more than 2.5 billion gallons of water.

But starting next year, only low flow toilets will be sold in stores, meaning the water guzzling high flow models will be phased out.

SAWS will adopt new water saving incentives.

SAWS says you can still get a freebie low flow toilet if you apply before the end of the year.

SAWS customers can receive up to two free two button Caroma toilets, if they agree to install the toilets in the home.
