More than a year after a deck collapse sent one hundred people tumbling into Biscayne Bay, Shuckers in North Bay Village is open for business.

The bar officially re-opened to the public today at noon.

The old set-up has been replaced with a concrete-reinforced Aztec wood deck that can withstand 180 tons of weight and Category 5 hurricane force winds.

More than two-dozen people were injured in last year's deck collapse but no one was killed.
