The candidates who hope to oust Democratic Congressman Joe Garcia in November are getting ready to go to battle this evening in their first debate in Spanish.

Cuban American Civic Coalition Director Tony Esquivel says it's important to let residents of this heavily Spanish speaking district hear from the four Republican candidates in Spanish because they may not completely understand English.

They will speak mainly about Cuban-American and Hispanic issues.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the University of Miami Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies.

The primary is set for August 26th.
